Seeking the Kingdom of God
I had a friend point me toward Mathew 6:33 just a little while ago - "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." My first question is what is the kingdom of God and then my second question is how do you seek it. Is the kingdom of God something that can be found? I know that each person is own their own "adventure" as they learn to discover God in new ways, but I wonder if there is a common ground that we walk on that helps us to seek God together. I have only just recently started this particular journey - but one verse that I have found is Romans 14:17 - "For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit." This only encourages me to ask more questions and they mostly resound in how? How does this happen? How do we know that we are on the right track? Is it simply prayer or is there more than that? Is prayer the means or the method? Another question is can it be achieved individually or must it be travelled towards as a group?

I have also been wondering tonight about faith. Can you produce your own faith? If you can then how can you make it stronger? I ask this because I struggle with my faith in the idea that it seems to be so weak most of the time. Now and then I can believe that my faith is real, but more often than not I wonder if I have any faith at all. My view of my faith is also linked to my view of my relationship with God. If I have no or little faith then how well can I hear and then subsequently obey Him? Christ says that faith the size of a mustard seed will move mountains - if I am not moving mountains then do I not have faith at all?
